Subscription of oath and affirmation

8.29As soon as a Member has been sworn, or has made their affirmation, they subscribe at the Table the ‘test roll’, which is a bound volume, headed by the oath and affirmation which they have taken or made; and the Member is then introduced to the Speaker by the Clerk of the House. The rules which provide for the time and manner of taking the oath by Members returned at by-elections are stated at para 19.20.
