45.26The procedure on consideration and third reading of a private bill (and on consideration of Lords amendments, see para 45.36 ) differs according to whether the stages in question are taken formally at the time of unopposed private business or, as a consequence of opposition from Members, they are set down by direction of the Chairman of Ways and Means for debate.
