Economic Affairs Committee
40.53The committee was first appointed in 2001.1 The committee's order of reference is βto consider economic affairs'. It has power to appoint a sub-committee which may consider so much of the Finance Bill as relates to technical issues of administration, clarification and simplification but not the incidence or rates of tax.2 The committee has power to co-opt other Lords Members to the sub-committee.
