40.44Legislative select committees consider bills, draft bills and certain categories of delegated legislation. Such committees may be appointed on an ad hoc basis to consider specific bills or draft bills,1 or to undertake post-legislative scrutiny of an Act or group of Acts. They may also be appointed on a sessional basis.2
