Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee

38.66The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee is currently established under Standing Order No 146, in succession to the Select Committee on Public Administration (and with an expanded remit to take on that of the Political and Constitutional Reform Committee of the 2010–15 Parliament). It operates akin to a departmental select committee in examining the work of the Cabinet Office, including the quality and standards of administration within the Civil Service, together with constitutional issues. It also examines the reports laid before the House of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (the Parliamentary Ombudsman) and Health Service Commissioner for England (Health Service Ombudsman), positions jointly held by a single official known as the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.1
