Standing Orders

35.30A motion for the adoption, inter alia, of Standing Order No 53 and of Standing Order 156A (Private Business) was held to require the recommendation of the Crown because those Standing Orders exempted from compliance with the standing orders and practice of the House relating to the authorisation of charges upon the public revenue provisions of certain classes of bill authorising expenditure by a local authority which would or might have the effect of increasing amounts payable by way of Exchequer Equalisation Grant (now Revenue Support Grant).1
