Relaxation of financial rules in urgent cases

33.18On rare occasions, the provisions of the financial standing orders have been overridden by an order of the House1 (to which, however, the Queen's recommendation was signified) providing that the requirements of some or all of the standing orders, and the practice of the House relating to the imposition of charges on the public revenue, should be deemed to have been complied with in respect of the provisions of a bill or of any government amendment moved thereto (see also paras 30.42, 35.31 ).
